Our dry figs simmered in Mavrodaphne syrup with black peppercorns are a variation on an ancient greek recipe. This was a much appreciated taste at the symposia where Socrates, Plato, Pericles, Aristophanes, Aristotle, Alexander and so many others were enjoying themselves.
Ingredients: Dried figs, mavrodaphne, sugar, black pepper. 
Serving suggestion: these figs will provide the perfect companion to mature cheese, salty meat and fish and just about any strong taste and flavour.
